my story.

I was born in Pune, India on September 16, 1989. I was raised in the same city and ever since I can remember I always wanted to be a part of films, though while growing up I did not know what exactly I wanted to do with films. I grew up on the healthy diet of 90s Hindi films! I would always watch the ‘making’ of films on television and try to find out (in the pre-internet era!) about the cast and crew.

After I entered college I realized directing films is what I really want to do. I began attending film festivals and got myself exposed to all kinds of films. After my 12th grade I joined the Institute of Moving Images, Pune and took formal training in Direction. I also did a lot of workshops conducted in the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune (FTII) and National Film Archive of India, Pune (NFAI) in those days. I attended script writing workshops as well.

Later, along with studying for my bachelor’s degree, I worked with a telecom company called Hutchison 3 Global Services as the Data Analyst for two and a half years.

I moved to Mumbai in January 2014 and began working in the television industry as the Associate Creative Head with Four Lions Films and ended up being a part of quite a few independent Ad films, short films and TVCs alongside. Eventually transitioning to feature films and web series I co-founded my production company An Eve Films in 2018 along with other founding members.

Covid19 pandemic hit all of us pretty much alike. But I personally feel it turned out to be a catalyst, in a way, helping me take a break, look back, reflect and incorporate into my life all the wisdom and learnings to become not just a better filmmaker but a better person.

I am a registered member of Screenwriters’ Association (SWA), Mumbai (SWA ID: 36642). In my spare time I work as a Script Consultant helping and providing consulting to independent screenwriters, most of whom are based in California, USA.

With a few short films lined up I’m working on my debut feature film, a drama, which is based on a real life event of a youngster’s encounter with law and order.

On the writing front, I completed writing two seasons of a youth-centric Web Series as the episodic writer; an action-drama Feature Film as the script editor; and the Story for a Web Feature film NOVA 2080, a sci-fi drama.
